Carolina Panthers - Fantasy News

For the third time in three weeks, the Miami Dolphins will play in front of a national television audience. They lost the first two legs of that stretch by a combined score of 67-24, but they hope to be more competitive in this matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

After a 1-2 start, Miami rattled off three straight wins against the Titans, Falcons and Jets to get to 4-2. After consecutive losses, the Dolphins sit at 4-4 headed into an eight-week stretch with six games against teams with winning records. To have any chance at the playoffs, the Dolphins need to show signs of life in this game.

The Panthers enter this contest at 6-3, coming off wins against Tampa Bay and Atlanta. Though the Carolina offense has disappeared at times, the defense has held opponents without a touchdown four times in nine games.

Miami Dolphins Week 10 Projected Fantasy Points
Jay Cutler: 12.0 PFP
Jarvis Landry: 11.5 PFP
DeVante Parker: 10.0 PFP
Kenny Stills: 8.0 PFP
Damien Williams: 6.0 PFP
Cody Parkey: 6.0 PFP
Kenyan Drake: 5.5 PFP
Julius Thomas: 5.0 PFP

Carolina Panthers Week 10 Projected Fantasy Points
Cam Newton: 17.5 PFP
Christian McCaffrey: 11.0 PFP
Devin Funchess: 9.5 PFP
Graham Gano: 8.0 PFP
Jonathan Stewart: 6.5 PFP
Ed Dickson: 6.0 PFP

Start 'Em: Kenyan Drake (5.5 PFP)
Dober Fantasy Points Per Game: 2.26

Kenyan Drake had somewhat of a coming out party against the Raiders on Sunday Night Football, turning 15 touches into 105 yards. Though he lost a fumble, he wasn’t punished by the coaching staff, and he ultimately out-snapped and out-touched Damien Williams.

Things won’t always be as easy as they were against a weak Oakland defense, but Drake has shown some speed and power to go with his soft hands. The Panthers have played tough against the run, but Jay Cutler showed a willingness to check the ball down to Drake, which should allow him to easily get over a low 5.5 DFP this week.

Sit 'Em: Jarvis Landry (11.5 PFP)
Dober Fantasy Points Per Game: 11.79

Jarvis Landry has been on an absolute tear lately, scoring four touchdowns in his last five games and averaging 13.2 DFP per during that span. However, this isn’t a winning streak we are willing to bet into.

In his four seasons in the NFL, Landry has never caught more than five touchdown passes. At 5-11 and 208 pounds, he doesn’t have the size to get over defensive backs and lacks the speed to score long touchdowns. Landry has eclipsed 48 yards twice in his last seven games, and Dolphins’ No. 1 receiver DeVante Parker recently returned to the lineup. We think the touchdown train stops in Carolina and recommend fading Landry on Dober Play Cards.

Start 'Em: Cam Newton (17.5 PFP)
Dober Fantasy Points Per Game: 17.25

Though not throwing the ball as well as in his 2015 MVP season, Cam Newton has made up for it by breaking big runs at critical times.

Since Week 4, Newton has seven or more rush attempts in every game. He’s averaged nearly 50 rushing yards per game during that span and has scored four touchdowns on the ground this season. In his last six games, he’s eclipsed 17.5 DFP four times.

The Miami defense has been a strength for the team this season, but they’ve given up the third-best passer rating in football and a 12:3 touchdown to interception ratio. Still one of the best goal line backs in the league, Cam should produce enough on the ground to score more than 17.5 DFP this week.

Sit 'Em: Jonathan Stewart (6.5 PFP)
Dober Fantasy Points Per Game: 5.38

In his last five games, Stewart has been held below 6.5 DFP four times. Due to fumbles and ineffectiveness, he remarkably has two games with negative DFP.

The Dolphins have given up the seventh-fewest rushing yards in the league and have forced seven fumbles in eight games. Stewart hasn’t caught a pass since Week 5, and he is one of the least-exciting weapons on this team. He has seen his workload drop with the emergence of Christian McCaffrey, and Cam Newton has always been the preferred goal line player in Carolina. We recommend fading the 30-year old running back against 6.5 PFP.
