Gentry had a strong training camp with the Bears and carried that over to the preseason where he pulled in four receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown. However, he was unable to land a spot on the final roster and signed to the team's practice squad instead. With fellow receiver Kevin White heading to IR with a broken shoulder, that opens up a spot for Gentry on the active roster. While Gentry's promotion is encouraging, he's still buried on the depth chart and could have a tough time garnering a significant amount of targets.
