Kizer likely was worth a top-15 pick in terms of talent, but he falls this far largely due to questions about his character -- specifically the question of whether he cares about football. Kizer's advanced poise, mechanics and overall productivity for his age would seem to imply a person who worked hard at his craft, but Kizer regressed as a second-year starter in 2016, and his college coach undermined his stock by publicly criticizing him. Accuracy and decision making need to improve for Kizer to stick as a starter in the NFL, but he's otherwise a big, strong-armed and athletic quarterback who was very impressive for most of his two-year run as starter. No matter how many negatives you add up with Kizer, for Cleveland to get him this late is a hand well-played. He should be ready to start by 2018, and a 2017 takeover at Cody Kessler's expense can't be ruled out.
