Cleveland Browns - Fantasy News

A franchise that has been trampled from the mud during the past decade, reached its nadir in 2016. The Cleveland Browns finished in the AFC North cellar for the 12th time in the last 14 years, but set a new mark for futility by finishing the season 1-15. It was a rough start to the Hue Jackson era with the team finishing in the bottom three of every major statistical category.

Quarterback play has long been the biggest weakness for the Browns. The team brought in Robert Griffin III and Josh McCown in the offseason, but both were injured and ineffective. However, there is some hope surrounding the young Cody Kessler. Although Kessler went 0-8 as a starter, he didn’t put up horrible numbers. He wasn’t great in terms of fantasy points with just 8.67 an outing, but he did flash enough promise for Jackson to name him the incumbent starter heading into the preseason.

It's not often that you highlight a rookie on any given roster, but David Njoku could be something special. The first-round tight end out of Miami is a freakish athlete with the potential to dominate matchups all over the field. Tight ends are more valuable than ever in fantasy lineups, and the Browns don’t have many other viable offensive options aside from Njoku after Terrelle Pryor left this past offseason. Kessler showed a proclivity to checking down last year and that should mean myriad catches for Njoku.
