Kansas City Chiefs - Fantasy News

It’s safe to say the history between the Washington Redskins and Kansas City Chiefs has been pretty one-sided. Kansas City leads the all-time series 8-1 and has outscored Washington 263-146. The only time the Redskins won was back in 1983, but they will be looking to improve to 3-1 for the first time since 2011 in their first of two appearances on Monday Night Football in 2017.

The latest installment of this series will take place in Week 4 during prime time, and two stars to look out for are tight ends Jordan Reed of the Redskins and Travis Kelce of the Chiefs.

Due to a chest injury last week, Reed was replaced in the lineup by Vernon Davis, who was fantastic in hauling in five passes for 58 yards and a touchdown. Kelce was healthy for the Chiefs in Week 3, but he was barely targeted and recorded only 0.6 Dober Fantasy Points.

Fantasy Matchup: Jordan Reed (10.0 PFP) vs. Travis Kelce (9.0 PFP)

Reed is a slim one-point favorite over Kelce in this matchup between teams that have rarely played. That could be vital when choosing players for your Dober fantasy lineup slots. The Monday Night Football forecast looks perfect, so the players won’t be affected by weather and the crowd should be rocking for this NFC-AFC tilt.

Reed was out of action against Oakland but the Redskins still dominated the Raiders 27-10. The defense played great and the No. 11 passing attack led by Kirk Cousins was outstanding as well. The receiving corps went berserk against the Raiders defense for 365 yards and three touchdowns. Through Week 3, Reed ranks as the No. 30 tight end in fantasy. Davis played very well in his absence, so Washington has the luxury of possibly resting its star tight end again in Week 4 if his chest injury isn’t completely healed.

If he’s healthy, the ‘Skins definitely have a powerful 1-2 combo at the position for the No. 8 overall offense in the NFL. Meanwhile, Kansas City ranks a respectable No. 10 in the league against the tight end position in fantasy football.

Kelce has really gotten some help on the Chiefs offense so far in 2017. Despite only being targeted one time for one yard in Week 3, the Chiefs as a team managed to continue their hot start, moving to 3-0 on the season. They’re No. 3 in total offense while Kelce ranks out as the No. 8 fantasy tight end. Starting him in your Dober fantasy lineup in Week 4 is a no-brainer.

The Redskins defense has allowed the most yards per game to tight ends. In Week 3, Washington allowed Jared Cook to tally four receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown. Assuming Kelce is targeted more than the one time in which he was against the Chargers, he should bounce back from a non-Kelce like performance in a big way.

With the possibility of Davis limiting Reed’s Week 4 production should he even play, I wouldn’t hesitate starting Kelce in your Dober fantasy lineups.
