You had to go back to 1992 to find the last time the Denver Broncos were shutout in a game. They can now add October 22, 2017 to their list of dubious days being held off the scoreboard.
In its 21-0 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, Denver became the third team to get shutout in Week 7, the sixth to be held without any touchdown and the seventh to go without an offensive touchdown.
Perhaps we should have seen this coming out of Denver. The team was a wreck offensively last week against the Giants, and this week, Emmanuel Sanders didn't play, while Demaryius Thomas was basically a no-show with his two catches for nine yards.
Fortunately, a few big plays put some Chargers past their Projected Fantasy Points totals. Philip Rivers threw two touchdown passes, one to Austin Ekeler and one to Travis Benjamin. Benjamin has been taken off the field a bunch lately due to the arrival of Mike Williams into the lineup. He only had one catch on Sunday, but that catch was good enough to crush his PFP.
