The Los Angeles Chargers avoided the indignation of losing to the Cleveland Browns for a second-consecutive season. It wasn't as easy as it should have been, but the 19-10 win was good enough to move into a first-place tie in the AFC West with Kansas City.
Philip Rivers had a banner day at the office against the Browns. He threw for 344 yards and a touchdown. If not for three failures inside the red zone that resulted in Travis Coons field goals, Rivers could have easily posted his best day for Dober Fantasy players in years. He'll have to settle for 17.56 Dober Fantasy Points, a mark that beat his Projected Fantasy Points total.
The Browns looked competent on offense for much of this game, but they just couldn't get the ball in the end zone often enough to notch their first win of the season.
DeShone Kizer played much better than 15-for-32 for 215 yards, a touchdown and an interception would suggest.
The big problem Kizer had was that went just 4-for-15 when targeting his two top receivers, Josh Gordon and Corey Coleman. Gordon's first game back in two seasons for the Browns was successful with four grabs for 85 yards, but Coleman was shutout.
