Jets at Dolphins Fantasy Recap (Week 7, 2017)

On a day where offense was hard to come by for a lot of teams, the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets more than exceeded their woeful expectations in a great game. The Fins beat the Jets 31-28 to send New York to the gutter in the AFC East.

The downside to the win for the Dolphins is that Jay Cutler left the game with a chest injury in the third quarter. The upside is that Matt Moore looked the part of the better of the two quarterbacks.

Both quarterbacks had strikingly similar numbers for fantasy purposes. Moore threw for 188 yards with two touchdowns and a pick. Cutler threw for 138 yards with two scores and an interception.

Both men needed to be great due to the fact that Jay Ajayi wasn't.

Ajayi had just 51 yards on 23 carries. This is the fourth time in five games Ajayi hasn't averaged four yards per carry. In a related fantasy story, Ajayi hasn't scored a touchdown in seven straight games and in 10 of his last 11 dating back to last season.

The Jets were curiously strong once again in their passing game, as Josh McCown accounted for four total touchdowns. The fact that he spread his 17 completions amongst seven different receivers kept most from beating their Projected Fantasy Points totals. Last week marked the first time this year that McCown had topped 20 Dober Fantasy Points. He crushed that number this week with a season-high 24.46 DFP.
