Chargers vs. Patriots Fantasy Recap (Week 8, 2017)

It's not often that the New England Patriots rack up 414 yards of offense but ultimately have the kicker be one of their top fantasy scorers of the day.

Alas, the Pats got into the red zone four times and walked away with just one touchdown. However, thanks to Stephen Gostkowski's four field goals, the Pats took care of business against the Los Angeles Chargers in a 21-13 triumph.

Though five Patriots caught at least five passes, it wasn't the wide receivers doing most of the damage on this day. Both James White and Rex Burkhead went past their Projected Fantasy Points totals on receiving alone while Rob Gronkowski narrowly passed by his PFP thanks to a touchdown.

The Los Angeles offense put up reasonable numbers, but a lot of that was skewed based on Melvin Gordon's 87-yard touchdown run that opened the game. Aside from that, the Chargers amassed a total of 262 yards on 50 plays, an average of just 5.24 yards per play.

Travis Benjamin had a nice day for the Bolts, picking up five receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown. He was the only Chargers wide receiver or tight end that surpassed his PFP on a day that Philip Rivers went just 17-for-30 for 212 yards with a touchdown and a pick.
