Patriots at Buccaneers Fantasy Recap (Week 5, 2017)

It doesn't take a genius to know that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to be in the market for a new kicker for the second time this season. Their 19-14 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 5 was the direct result of three missed field goals by Nick Folk. Had any of the three split the uprights, the Bucs would have been able to try a field goal on the final play of the game instead of trying to complete a touchdown pass from 20 yards away.

You'd think that a game with just three total touchdowns would have been a horrible dud for Dober fantasy players, but that wasn't totally the case.

One man who had a nice night was Doug Martin. Martin took the field for the first time in 2017 and proved why he has consistently been the No. 1 receiver for Tampa Bay when he's been available. He rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown and effectively rendered previous starter, Jacquizz Rodgers useless. This will be an interesting dynamic to keep an eye on going forward for future Dober Play Cards.

Tom Brady had another 300+ yard game, even without the services of the injured Rob Gronkowski.

Yet maybe the most important player of the day for New England was Stephen Gostkowski. His four field goals and 15 Dober Fantasy Points made the difference in this one.
