The Philadelphia Eagles didn't have their best receiving weapon in the lineup in Week 9, and they were up against what is supposed to be one of the better defenses in the NFL.
So much for that narrative.
The Eagles romped the Denver Broncos 51-23 in yet another fantastic day for the Philadelphia offense.
With Zach Ertz out of the fold, Alshon Jeffrey hauled in two of Carson Wentz's four touchdown passes in the win.
The Philadelphia ground game came up big with 197 yards on 37 carries with three touchdowns. The newcomer, Jay Ajayi, had eight carries for 77 yards and his first touchdown of the season to smash his Projected Fantasy Points total in his first game with his new team.
But the real surprise was Corey Clement.
The rookie from Wisconsin figured to get pushed out of the backfield with Ajayi and LeGarrette Blount in the mix. Instead, he rushed for 51 yards and two scores and caught a touchdown pass out of the backfield.
Brock Osweiler's first start in his return to Denver was nothing memorable. He went 19-for-38 for 208 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.
C.J. Anderson went down briefly with what looked like a scary leg injury, but he came back in the fold shortly thereafter. You wouldn't know it, though, based on his nine carries for 13 yards.
