Philadelphia Eagles - Fantasy News

This week’s Sunday Night Football tilt features a matchup between two of the premier teams in the NFC. The 10-1 Philadelphia Eagles will travel to the Emerald City to take on the 7-4 Seattle Seahawks.

As predicted by nobody outside of Philadelphia, the Eagles have been the best team in football this season. They’ve truly dominated in every phase of the game. They rank first in the league in points per game with 31.9 and third in points allowed at just 17.4 per contest. Even the special teams have been sound as rookie kicker Jake Elliott has missed just four field goal attempts and hit a 61-yarder to beat the Giants in Week 3.

The mirror opposite of the Eagles is the Seahawks. Seattle’s once-vaunted defense has been devastated by injuries to Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor and others. The ‘Hawks have gotten nothing out of their running backs and receivers, and Blair Walsh has missed five field goals in his last five games. This team is being single-handedly willed to victories by Russell Wilson, who is on pace to break the record for highest percentage of offensive yardage accounted for in a single season.

Philadelphia Eagles Week 13 Projected Fantasy Points
Carson Wentz: 17.0 PFP
Alshon Jeffery: 12.5 PFP
Zach Ertz: 11.0 PFP
Jake Elliott: 9.0 PFP
Nelson Agholor: 9.0 PFP
Jay Ajayi: 8.5 PFP
LeGarrette Blount: 7.0 PFP
Torrey Smith: 5.5 PFP
Corey Clement: 5.5 PFP

Seattle Seahawks Week 13 Projected Fantasy Points
Russell Wilson: 22.0 PFP
Doug Baldwin: 12.5 PFP
Jimmy Graham: 11.5 PFP
Paul Richardson: 9.5 PFP
J.D. McKissic: 7.0 PFP
Blair Walsh: 7.0 PFP
Tyler Lockett: 7.0 PFP
Mike Davis: 6.0 PFP

Start 'Em: Carson Wentz (17.0 PFP)
Dober Fantasy Points Per Game: 21.87

A bona fide MVP candidate, Wentz has been nothing short of spectacular in his sophomore season. If there’s one knock on his fantasy value, it’s that the Eagles have been so good that they haven’t needed him to throw the ball often. After a rookie season in which he threw the ball 607 times, he’s on pace for just 514 attempts this year. However, those passes have been extremely efficient, and he’s scored more than 17.0 DFP five times in his last seven games. In the last two weeks, Seattle has given up 17.0 DFP to Drew Stanton and 13.3 DFP to 49ers quarterbacks, so Wentz should have no problem getting way over his PFP.

Sit 'Em: Jay Ajayi (8.5 PFP)
Dober Fantasy Points Per Game: 8.83

When Ajayi was traded from Miami, fantasy players were foaming at the mouth imagining how good he would be in a dominant Philadelphia offense. Ajayi has been every bit as good as people hoped, and far better than he was with the Dolphins on a per touch basis. However, Doug Pederson is employing a three-back rotation in which Ajayi is the third man in after LeGarrette Blount and Corey Clement. As an Eagle, Ajayi has 23 touches compared to 24 for Clement and 37 for Blount over the same span. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” seems to be the motto of the Philadelphia coaching staff concerning the running back rotation, so we recommend fading Ajayi barring an injury or sudden uptick in playing time.

Start 'Em: Jimmy Graham (11.5 PFP)
Dober Fantasy Points Per Game: 10.84

With four more red zone targets than any player in the league, Graham has re-established himself as one of the premier weapons inside the 20 in the NFL. With the running back position in Seattle a merry-go-round of despair, the Seahawks have turned to Graham as a substitute in goal-to-go situations. After being held scoreless in the first four games of the season, Graham has eight touchdowns in his last seven contests. During that span he has only two games with fewer than four receptions and one game with fewer than 34 yards. If Graham can get four receptions for 36 yards and a score, he beats his PFP for the week. That feels very manageable in what could be a high-scoring game.

Sit 'Em: Doug Baldwin (12.5 PFP)
Dober Fantasy Points Per Game: 11.45

Quietly, Baldwin has been one of the most disappointing fantasy receivers in 2017. His cumulative numbers look acceptable, but on a week-to-week basis, it’s been very hit or miss. Baldwin has just three games this season with more than 12.5 DFP and now faces a defense that has been one of the best in the league against opposing receivers despite facing more pass attempts than any other unit. Removing the Giants game in which it was torched by Odell Beckham, Philadelphia has given up an average of just 22.53 DFP per game to receivers. That’s a mark that would be top-five in the NFL over the course of the season. In a bad matchup, even in a potentially high-scoring game, we recommend fading the disappointing Baldwin on Dober Play Cards.
