There were some murmurs that Blount's roster spot might be in danger due to his preseason struggles in combination with the emergence of undrafted rookie Corey Clement. The Eagles ended up keeping five running backs, with Blount followed on the depth chart by Darren Sproles, Wendell Smallwood, Donnel Pumphrey and Clement. Eagles coach Doug Pederson hinted at a committee when speaking to the media Monday, saying carries will be dictated by the game plan and situation, according to Zach Berman of The Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News.
