The decision doesn't come as much of a surprise after Smallwood averaged 29.0 yards on nine kickoff returns in 2016 -- good for sixth in the league among players who had at least that many -- while also scoring a touchdown. The assignment will aid Smallwood's fantasy outlook in leagues that count total yardage, but in most formats, his appeal will be a little more limited while both LeGarrette Blount and Darren Sproles are healthy in the Eagles' backfield.
