The 35-year-old running back made good on coach Doug Pederson's stated expectation of a return to practice after a two-month absence. It's still far from a lock Sproles will be ready to face the Cowboys on Sunday, but he at least is on track to play at some point within the next few weeks. When asked Tuesday about what Sproles' role would likely once healthy, running backs coach Duce Staley wouldn't shed much light on the matter, telling Zack Rosenblatt of NJ.com, "we'll see." In light of his lengthy absence in addition to a crowded backfield committee that includes Wendell Smallwood, Corey Clement and Josh Adams, Sproles' fantasy upside seems limited.
