The San Francisco 49ers are bound to have better luck at some point in the 2017 season.
After getting blown out by Carolina in Week 1, the Niners have now lost their last three games by a combined eight points. The most recent of those losses came at the hands of the Arizona Cardinals by an 18-15 count in overtime in Week 4.
Dober fantasy players will wonder what could have been had either team been able to find the end zone with any sort of consistency.
Robbie Gould accounted for all 15 points for San Francisco on the afternoon, while Phil Dawson scored all 12 Arizona points in regulation.
The overtime period was interesting for sure. The 49ers marched 73 yards on 17 plays, eating up the first 7:36 of the 10-minute extra frame. However, they came up just shy of the end zone and had to settle for yet another Gould field goal.
Carson Palmer had problems with his rhythm throughout the day, but he finally got the job done on a seven-play, 75-yard drive that was capped by a 19-yard touchdown pass to Larry Fitzgerald. The first touchdown won the game with just 37 seconds left.
Palmer threw for 357 yards and largely he had to, knowing that the ground attack accounted for just 51 yards on 22 carries. Palmer was also sacked six times. In spite of that, he was the fantasy player of the game for Arizona, compiling 17.38 Dober Fantasy Points.
